This 1959 Volkswagen Type 2 was reportedly used by the Kirchheim unter Teck fire department in Germany for approximately 40 years before it was imported to the US under previous ownership. It subsequently underwent a refurbishment before being purchased by the current owner out of Wyoming in 2021. Finished in red over gray upholstery, the bus is powered by a 1.2-liter flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Features include 14″ steel wheels, trafficators, a front spotlight, Bosch horns, a blue Hella emergency light, a roof rack, a Magirus water pump, a wooden rear bench, and a single rear jump seat. This Type 2 fire truck is offered on dealer consignment in Denver, Colorado, with fire-fighting equipment and uniforms, a service manual, literature, recent service records, and a clean Montana title in the name of the owner’s LLC. The bus is finished in red with painted German-language fire department graphics on the doors. Equipment includes black-painted bumpers, a front-mounted spotlight, Bosch horns, a split windshield, a blue Hella emergency light, and mud flaps. The Bekowa roof rack features wood slats, and it is mounted with drafting hose sections. The trafficators will require service, according to the selling dealer. Black-finished 14″ steel wheels wear chrome hubcaps and are mounted with Yokohama Super Van 356 tires, while a spare wheel is stowed behind the front bench seat. Stopping power is provided by drums at all four corners. The front cabin features a bench seat trimmed in gray vinyl along with a color-matched cabin divider, kick panels, and door cards. Additional equipment includes a black rubber floor mat, an overhead console, and a German firefighter’s plaque on the cabin divider. The black two-spoke steering wheel frames a VDO 100-km/h speedometer, and the five-digit odometer shows less than 28k kilometers (~17k miles). Total mileage is unknown. The rear cabin is finished in gray and features a wood-slat rear bench along with a single jumpseat on the front bulkhead. Holes in the cabin divider can be seen in the gallery. A Magirus water pump is mounted on a slide-out rack in the rear cargo area, while hose fittings and other equipment are stored on the door panels. The 1.2-liter flat-four is said to have been rebuilt under previous ownership, and it was factory rated at 36 horsepower. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transaxle. German Feuerwehr uniforms are included in the sale along with a factory service manual.
