This 1967 Volkswagen Type 2 11-window Microbus was reportedly refurbished and modified by Kustom Coach Werks in Grand Junction, Colorado, prior to the current owner’s acquisition in August 2021. The bus is powered by a replacement air-cooled 2,096cc flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle and finished in green and white over gray cloth and green vinyl upholstery. Equipment includes 15″ steel wheels, ventilated front disc brakes, dual Weber carburetors, an extended capacity oil sump, and a flat-folding rear bench in addition to storage cabinets, a power inverter, a solar panel, a Kenwood CD stereo, a 12-volt charging outlet, an LED light bar, H4 headlights, six pop-out side windows, an awning, and a roof rack with wood slats. This Type 2 is now offered on behalf of the current owner in Oklahoma with a repair manual, a storage chest, and a clean Colorado title in the current owner’s name. The 11-window body was refinished in green and white under previous ownership and features an LED light bar, H4 headlights, six pop-out side windows, white bumpers, and an awning and rear spotlight mounted to the wood slat roof rack. Steel 15″ wheels wear chrome VW-stamped hubcaps and are mounted with 215/75 Kumho Road Venture AT51 tires. Stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes with ventilated front rotors. The front cabin features a split front bench seat trimmed in patterned gray cloth and green vinyl as well as a parcel shelf, sliding side windows, lap belts, LED interior lighting, a Kenwood CD stereo, a 12-volt charging outlet, and a wire basket with integrated cupholders. Dual swing-out side doors provide access to the rear compartment, which has been fitted with rear-facing jump seats, a flat-folding rear bench, storage cabinets, and a fold-out table. Two batteries that work in conjunction with a power inverter and a solar panel mounted atop the bus are housed beneath the rear bench. The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a body-color steel dashboard housing an 80-mph VDO speedometer and fuel level gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 45k miles, and true mileage is unknown. The replacement air-cooled flat-four has reportedly been modified to displace 2,096cc under previous ownership utilizing an (AJ) dual relief fuel-injected engine case equipped with an electric fuel pump, dual Redline Weber carburetors, a Bosch blue ignition coil, a degree pulley, and an extended capacity oil sump. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. An aftermarket exhaust system with heater boxes has been installed. Filed under: vw
