This 1966 Volkswagen Type 2 is a 21-window Deluxe model that was acquired in 2024 by the seller from their father, who purchased it in 2006. It is powered by a replacement air-cooled 1.6L flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle and is finished in red and white over beige vinyl upholstery. Equipment includes 15″ steel wheels, drum brakes, a 12-volt electrical system, three rows of bench seating, front shoulder belts, a sliding fabric sunroof, eight skylight windows, six pop-out side windows, and safari-style windshields. This Type 2 bus is now offered with an uninstalled roof rack, spare parts, and Connecticut registration. The 21-window body was factory-finished in Titian Red (L555) and Beige Grey (L472) and was repainted approximately 20 years ago. Exterior details include deluxe trim, a sliding fabric sunroof, eight skylight windows, six pop-out side windows, dual side mirrors, chrome jack hole covers, and safari-style windshields. Exterior blemishes include areas of mismatched and bubbling paint, rust, dents, and scratches. The bus rides on a lowered suspension and is equipped with 15″ steel wheels, chrome VW-stamped hubcaps, thin-whitewall tires, and four-wheel drum brakes. The walk-through front cab houses bucket seats that are trimmed in beige vinyl upholstery with patterned inserts joined by a color-coordinated kick panel and door cards. A black rubber floor mat lines the footwells, and additional appointments include a parcel shelf, sliding side windows, a radio delete plate, a Vintage Speed shifter, and an overhead ventilation unit. The two-spoke steering wheel wears a Wolfsburg crest horn button and fronts an 80-mph VDO speedometer and fuel level gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 32k miles. Dual swing-out doors on the right provide access to two rows of bench seating fitted with lap belts and trimmed in matching upholstery. Jail bars are fitted in the rear cargo area along with a full-size spare. The replacement air-cooled 1.6L single-port flat-four utilizes a 12-volt electrical system and is fed by a single downdraft carburetor. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. An uninstalled roof rack is included in the sale along with assorted spare parts.
