This 1941 11A r Deluxe woodie station wagon was acquired in 2011, and a subsequent body-off refurbishment was conducted from 2011 through 2021. Finished in blue with wood paneling over red leather upholstery, the car is powered by a 221ci flathead V8 linked with a three-speed manual transmission and a two-speed rear axle. Other equipment includes OEM 16” steel wheels, polished hubcaps, three rows of bench seating, lap belts, and a Bluetooth/FM-capable updated radio. This r Deluxe woodie comes with a clean fornia title in the owner’s name.

produced 9,485 r Deluxe station wagons for 1941. ng the aforementioned refurbishment, this car received body work performed by Aries storation of llister, fornia, and was repainted in 1941 Blue. The wood framing was refurbished or replaced by Classic Woodworks of Morro y, fornia, before receiving seven coats of Captain’s nish protectant. The bumpers were rechromed, the black vinyl roof and the glass were replaced, and the running-board covers were revulcanized.

y-color 16″ wheels featuring red pinstriping, polished hubcaps, and trim rings are mounted with factory correct 6.00-16 whitewall tires. A spare tire is housed in a body-color cover attached to the tailgate. The suspension and the steering were overhauled during the refurbishment. The brake cylinders of the hydraulic braking system were resleeved with stainless-steel components.  The interior features three rows of bench seating that were reupholstered in red leather by Award Interiors of , fornia. Interior components include lap belts, a factory optional hot water heater, a clock, and vent windows. The AM radio has been updated with Bluetooth and FM capability. The front door locks are inoperative.

The two-spoke steering wheel features a half-circle chrome horn ring and fronts a horizontal 100-mph speedometer flanked by auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 2,300 miles, which reflects the distance accumulated since completion of the refurbishment; true mileage is unknown.

The NOS short block 221ci flathead V8 was rebuilt and bored .030″ over during the refurbishment, and factory optional 81A aluminum cylinder heads and adjustable lifters were installed. The radiator was recored during the refurbishment, and the water pumps, distributor, carburetor, generator, and starter were rebuilt. The vehicle’s wiring was replaced, and the voltage regulator was converted to solid-state operation. The throttle-set cable is disconnected from the carburetor.

Power is directed to the wheels through a rebuilt column-shifted three-speed manual transmission using NOS gears and housing.  A bulletproofed two-speed rear axle, 3.54:1 rear-end gearing, and hardened axle sleeves.
