This 1956 Ford Fairlane Sunliner convertible was refurbished and modified under previous ownership with the installation of a 428ci V8, triple two-barrel carburetors, power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering, and front disc brakes. The car was acquired by the selling dealer in 2022 and subsequently repainted in orange and white, and additional equipment includes a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission, an aluminum radiator, a dual exhaust system, 15″ chrome wire wheels, a power-operated white soft top, red and white vinyl upholstery, and air conditioning. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale. This Fairlane convertible is now offered with a transferable New York registration document.
Delivered from the factory in Fiesta Red (K), the car was repainted orange and white under previous ownership. Features include a chrome hood ornament, bumpers, and trim, as well as a power-operated white soft top, a driver-side mirror, and a dual exhaust system that exits through the rear bumper. A hand-painted “428” graphic has been added to the left fender.
The 15″ chrome wire wheels are mounted with 205/75 BFGoodrich Silvertown Radial whitewall tires. A matching spare wheel is stowed in the trunk. A Mustang II-style front crossmember has been installed with power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering, and stopping power is provided by front discs and rear drums with a dual-circuit brake master cylinder.
The cabin features front and rear bench seats trimmed in red and white vinyl with a color-coordinated dashboard and door panels. Black carpets line the floors, and additional equipment includes air conditioning, cup holders, and a fire extinguisher.
The three-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and it frames a 120-mph speedometer, a clock, gauges for fuel level and engine temperature, and warning lamps. The five-digit odometer shows 7k miles, approximately 2k of which were added by the selling dealer. Total mileage is unknown.
The 428ci V8 features triple two-barrel carburetors as well as chrome valve covers. An aluminum radiator is fitted, and an oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission.
