The Aceca was revealed in late 1954 at the rls Motor Show in & was acclaimed the Car of the r – John Tojeiro design,  space-frame aluminum rchetta inspired by the Ferrari 166

-Only 151 units of AC Aceca models, 169 Aceca s & 8 engined cars were built between 1954 & 1963. This is one of the 151.

sed on the open two-seat AC Ace, the Aceca was a hand-built grand tourer in the British tradition, with ash wood and steel tubing used in their construction. One notable was the hatchback at the rear, making the Aceca only the 2nd car, after the 1953 ton DB2/4, to incorporate this element.  The Ace was the car turned into the Cobra.

The car was very light due to its tubular frame, aluminium engine block and aluminium body panels. ge 16″ spoked road wheels and almost 50/50 weight distribution gave it remarkable handling with all-around independent suspension & transverse semi-elliptic leaf springs

The Aceca engine was an aluminum block, overhead camshaft straight-6 with triple SU’s displacing 1991cc that produced 90 horsepower.

The Aceca and the Ace had similar chassis, but the Aceca had heavier-duty main rails. Extra crossmember and rubber mountings also gave it better sound insulation. Glass fibre front and rear bulkheads further cut down the amount of noise transmitted to the cabin. The hand-built Aceca utilizes a formed aluminum bodywork over a steel tube and ash wood substructure along with independent front and rear suspension. – the Aceca’s doors and tailgate, which were wood-framed in the traditional manner. The car was light due to its tubular frame, aluminum engine block and aluminum body panels. ge 16″ spoked road wheels and almost 50/50 weight distribution gave it remarkable handling on poor roads. One of its notable features was a lift-up tailgate making it only the second car, after the ton DB2/4, to include this hatchback element. Power is supplied by the numbers-matching 2.0-liter OHC inline-six, which is paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox.

The front-end styling of the Ace and Aceca reportedly traces back to a design done by in for AC in the late 1940s. An alternative theory is that John Trojiero was influenced by the Ferrari 166MM rchetta, as seen on the Ace or Aceca’s nose and egg crate grille.

The AC Ace and Aceca were exclusive and rare cars, with entertaining power, and they continue this legacy today. sought after in all forms, for use in all sorts of historic events, the Ace and Aceca are practical long-distance cars and easy to work on. The AC Owners Club or ACOC is very active with a full calendar of sports and competition events as well as technical help.

trumentation is provided with a set of s gauges. 85k miles are shown on the odometer.

An original s Radiomobile radio remains in the dash.

The factory tool tray with correct tools, jack, and spare reside in the rear compartment

The Aceca left the factory on June 14th of 1958, shipped to BC , a.  In Rinsey   book “AC Six-Cylinder Sports in il: 16/66, 16/70, 16/80, 16/90, Ace, Aceca & Greyhound, 1933-1963” cover – Jan 15, 2-W.  AEX661 is listed as having engine CL-2356 and was also delivered to the same dian dealer. The original 1,, numbered CL 2356-W. It should be noted that AC production records of the period were not always strictly accurate, and sometimes changes occurred between the printing of the production records and assembly of each specific car. In this case, AEX661 and AEX672 were built sequentially for export to BC Sports , and the engine present in AEX672 was supposedly intended during production for AEX661. The intervening cars were all -powered, and AEX-W instead of CL-2362-W.

The car has a Ben s steering rack conversion kit to Rack & ion. Which is a huge handling upgrade to the original recirculating ball setup.  Ben s is an engineer in who is a member of the AC Owners Club and designed the upgrade.

It was supposed to have been at The final urs d’Elegance of at St Johns in 2022 and the wich urs 25th Anniversary in 2022 – but the US da der Closed due to Covid – couldn’t get there. We were also supposed to have the car at the Head urs in 2020 but the event was cancelled due to Covid. The invite rolled forward to 2021 but we couldn’t get there – the US dian border was closed.  In 2022 while enroute to the event, my trailer was hit by a flatbed in h which wrote off the trailer & damaged the Aceca inside – The Aceca sustained damage to the drivers rear fender area – A full-on bare metal restoration of the car ensued – we had a very talented metal worker fashion a new rear fender in aluminum on the left side by building a buck off the undamaged right side and reversing it – Very time consuming & pricey but exceptional results. The interior was also replaced at that time. The car is all metal, no bondo , in its original lline Blue exterior and Blue/grey Interior colors with correct materials and is in better condition that when we loaded it into the trailer for the 2022 Head urs.  The car was shown at the 2023 Head urs – 4th time is the charm.
