1964 Volkswagen Type 2 EZ Camper Split-Window

This 1964 Volkswagen Type 2 was converted to a camper by EZ Camper of America in Littlerock, California and was owned by comedian Jerry Seinfeld between 2010 and 2016. Finished in Pearl White over gray vinyl upholstery, the bus is powered by a 1.5-liter flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Additional features include wood paneling, a sink, an ice chest, built-in cabinets, fold-away tables, and body-color steel wheels. The bus was acquired by the selling dealer approximately six years ago, and work in preparation for the sale has included compression and leakdown tests, a brake fluid flush, clutch adjustment, carburetor cleaning, and replacement of the battery, a fuel line, and tires. This T1 Type 2 camper is being offered at no reserve with two folding chairs, an insulated drink carrier, and a clean California title. Finished from the factory in Perlweiss (L87), the bus features white-finished bumpers with overriders, a split windscreen, and chrome side-view mirrors. Body-color 14” steel wheels show date codes from February and March 1964 and wear gray-finished hubcaps and 185-width Vredestein Sprint Classic tires that were mounted in February 2022. A full-size spare is found behind the front seats. Braking is through drums at all four corners, and a brake fluid flush was performed in preparation for the sale. The cabin houses bucket seats trimmed in gray vinyl with white piping along with matching door panels and black rubber-lined floors. Lap belts are fitted for all occupants. A black two-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a body-color metal dashboard housing an 80-mph VDO speedometer and fuel level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 18k miles. The rear of the cabin features a tiled floor with a rug, along with wood paneling on the roof, door panels, and sides. Equipment includes a Mobilaire ice chest, a fire extinguisher, sink, three fold-away tables, brown curtains, storage cabinets, two electrical outlets, and folding bench seats trimmed in patterned brown vinyl. Two wood folding stools will accompany the vehicle, along with a period insulated drink carrier. The 1.5-liter flat-four features a single VW-branded Solex carburetor and sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. Recent service has included replacement of the battery and a fuel line, along with a carburetor cleaning, a clutch adjustment, and a repair to the muffler.
