1965 Volkswagen 21-Window Sunroof Deluxe Taxi Split-Window Bus

This 1965 Volkswagen Type 2 is a 21-window Sunroof Deluxe example that was purchased new in Germany for use as a taxi and was relocated to the Netherlands in 1998. The bus is finished in orange and white over orange vinyl upholstery, and power is from a replacement 1,641cc air-cooled flat four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Features include a walk-through front cabin with bucket seats, a roof-top taxi sign, skylight windows, a retractable white fabric sunroof, luggage bars, cargo baskets, Electown and Blaupunkt stereos, and a Kienzle clock. This Type 2 bus was acquired by the current owner in 2023 and is now offered on dealer consignment in the Netherlands with a service booklet and Dutch registration documents. The bus is said to have been refinished in orange and white under prior ownership. Details include sealed-beam headlights, white-painted bumpers with overriders, a sliding white fabric sunroof, a roof-top taxi sign, hinged third-row side windows, eight skylight windows, a roof rack, and a tow hitch. White 14″ steel wheels wear polished VW-logo hubcaps and are mounted with 195-75 Maxxis tires that show date codes from 2018, while a full-size spare is mounted on the front body panel.
