This 1965 Volkswagen Type 2 is finished in blue with a white upper section over a gray vinyl and is powered by an air-cooled 2.1L flat-four paired with a four-speed manual gearbox. Features include painted bumpers, a roof basket, pop-out windows, Westfalia Campmobil equipment, a convertible bed, SO-33 cabinets, a table, a spice rack, and curtains. The van was acquired by the seller in 2017 after being refurbished under previous ownership. This Type 2 is now offered with recent service records, manufacturer’s literature, a child’s cot, a jack, and transferrable New York registration in the seller’s name. Finished in Sea Blue with a Blue White upper section from the factory, the bus is said to have been repainted in 2011. Equipment includes powder-coated white bumpers with overriders, dual chrome side mirrors, passenger-side barn doors, pop-out windows, and a roof basket with wooden slats. The paint on the roof basket is bubbling, and there is a crack in the paint on the rear hatch. The seller states that two spots of corrosion on the pop-out windows have been touched up, while additional blemishes are shown up-close in the photo gallery. White-painted 15” steel wheels were powder coated under current ownership and feature chrome VW-branded hubcaps as well as thin whitewall tires. The drag link, control arms, and tie rods are said to have been replaced in 2017. The interior has been modified with Westfalia Campmobil 70 equipment and features front bucket seats as well as a convertible rear bed upholstered in gray vinyl with wooden door panels and black rubber mats. Additional equipment includes woodgrain side paneling, a rear-facing occasional-use seat, a hinged table, curtains, and storage cabinets. Two lap belts are said to be located beneath the rear seat. The rear seat is worn and the windshield washer bottle is not connected, while a child’s cot is included in the sale. The two-spoke steering wheel wears a silver-ringed horn button and fronts an 80-mph VDO speedometer and a fuel level gauge. Wear is visible on the steering wheel. The five-digit odometer shows 38k miles, approximately 3k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The 2.1-liter flat-four was installed under previous ownership and features dual carburetors topped by aftermarket air cleaners, an EMPI oil breather and fill tower, a Brosol fuel pump, a distributor, and aftermarket exhaust components. An oil change was performed in April 2021, and the battery was replaced in 2020. The seller notes that the engine leaks oil. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a replacement four-speed manual transaxle. Additional underbody photos are provided in the gallery.
