This 1966 Volkswagen Type 2 was acquired by the seller in May 2022 and underwent refurbishment work and a 23-window Samba-style conversion in Brazil before being imported to the United States in June 2023. The van is refinished in gold and black over red vinyl upholstery and powered by a 1.2-liter flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes a sliding fabric sunroof, roof racks, a ladder, safari-style windshields, Raw Classics 15″ wheels, and three rows of seating. This Type 2 is now offered with refurbishment photos, a recent service record, and a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name. The bus was previously finished in blue, and during the refurbishment it was fitted with replacement belly pans from Grumpy’s Metal of Huntington Beach, California along with sheetmetal work for the additional windows and sunroof opening. The vehicle was then refinished in two-tone metallic black and Pepper Gray with red pinstriping. Other equipment includes a retractable cloth sunroof, wood-slatted roof racks, a Macfel side ladder, black-painted bumpers, dual side mirrors, chrome trim, pop-out safari windows, and outward-opening dual windshield panes. Raw Classics Sprintstar 15″ wheels are wrapped in 185/60 Kumho Solus front and Aeolus PrecisionAce AH01 rear tires. Drum brakes are fitted at all four corners. The bench seats and side panels have been retrimmed in red leatherette upholstery. Black carpets have also been installed, and features include a front parcel shelf, sun visors, a folding middle-row seatback, floor mats, and a a faux radio-look block-off plate. An aftermarket steering wheel with a Macfel center fronts a painted steel dash housing a 100-km/h speedometer and a fuel-level gauge. The five-digit odometer indicates 550 kilometers (~350 miles), and true mileage is unknown. The air-cooled 1.2L flat-four is equipped with single-port cylinder heads and a single carburetor. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. Additional photos of the underside are provided in the gallery below. Photos taken before and during the refurbishment can be viewed in the gallery.
