1966 Volkswagen Type 2 Bus Westfalia Split-Window Camper

This 1966 Volkswagen Type 2 bus was acquired by the current owner in 2009 and was the subject of a multi-year refurbishment, which was completed in 2020. It is finished in green and white over gray vinyl and yellow Naugahyde upholstery and is equipped with a pop-up roof, jalousie windows, safari-style windshields,  and a Motorola AM radio, a shore power connection, and a 12-volt electrical system as well as a hand-pump windshield washer, a flat-folding rear bench seat, an insulated cooler, storage cabinets, fold-out tables, and privacy curtains. Power comes from an air-cooled 1,776cc flat-four equipped with dual carburetors and paired with a four-speed manual transaxle with gear reduction boxes. This Type 2 camper is now offered on dealer consignment with a first aid kit, a tool kit, a jack, a tent, camping equipment, manufacturer’s literature, and an Idaho title. The 11-window body was refinished in green and white under current ownership approximately 15 years ago. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle that has reportedly been modified with a “Freeway Flyer” gearset and is equipped with gear reduction boxes.
