Azure Blue with Blue interior. I bought this ID 21 in 2023 from a local enthusiast who put it on the road during COVID. It has been maintained rigorously by both Dave Burnham and Rich Hollabaugh (most recently). I had driven a friend’s 1973 Citroën the summer before and couldn’t sleep when I found this one.
It is in lovely original shape and has made for comfortable travel somewhat regularly from NYC to Philadelphia. It cruises with panache at 75 miles per hour (in complete marshmallow comfort!). I’ve used it respectfully as a seasonal daily driver with two car seats in the back. I’m only selling because I recently bought a CX GTI Turbo 2 and I can’t wipe the smile off my face!
This car was purchased new at Morrie’s Citroen in Minnesota. Luckily it was Ziebart treated from new by a passionate Citroën owner living in North Dakota (he had three!). He loved them for their innovative front wheel drive handling and adjustable suspension to climb over snowbanks. He owned his Citroëns until 1993 when another enthusiast brought them to northern NY state.
I have all the documentation in a binder from this sale. He never put this car back on the road and it was eventually sold through marque specialist Dave Burnham to a Francophile who resuscitated it as a COVID project in 2021.
The interior and paint is entirely original, tires are new. The engine and hydraulics have been rebuilt and the little niggles have been worked out. Complete maintenance records. The car is currently available for viewing in Philadelphia.
