The selling dealer, Coast Classics, is offering a genuine 1967 lkswagen Type 2 Sunroof Deluxe Bus with the options known as the “Samba.” This $160 option for the 13-window Bus added eight small skylights (four per each side) for a total of 21 glass panes on the vehicle. The huge canvas pull-back sunroof was also part of the package. a true man-built U.S. model, it has the U.S.-mandated safety features for 1967. The vehicle shows well, with a reported recent restoration. In that work, the vehicle’s color was changed from the original Velvet (paint code L512) to kis (turquoise, paint code 380). VW aficionados will note that the Samba was a 23-window model until 1963. For 1964, the rear door was widened for easier access, and the rear corner windows were eliminated.
