This 1967 Volkswagen Type 2 is a 13-window Model 24 Deluxe Microbus that was purchased by its current owner in 2016, and it was subsequently refurbished. Work included refinishing the exterior in two-tone blue and white, reupholstering the interior, updates of the suspension system, and installation of a 1,950cc flat-four. Additional equipment includes a Safari windshield, a stainless-steel exhaust system, dual Weber carburetors, a Bluetooth-capable Pioneer stereo, front disc brakes, “Elephant Ear” mirrors, seating for eight, front and rear lap belts, a Kienzle clock, and auxiliary gauges. During the refurbishment the wiring, weather seals, and tires were replaced, and in preparation for the sale an oil change was performed and the throttle cable was replaced. This Type 2 Deluxe is now offered at no reserve on dealer consignment with service and refurbishment records as well as a clean New Jersey title. During the refurbishment the bodywork was refinished in two-tone Sea blue and Cumulus white with chrome trim, and additional work is said to include replacement of the chrome bumpers, windshield wiper arms, mirrors, door handles, and the window and door weather seals. The bus features 13 windows with a Safari windshield, and close-up images of the paint and body are provided in the gallery below. Steel 14″ wheels are finished in white with replacement chrome Volkswagen-logo hubcaps and wear 205/70 Maxxis MA-1 white-stripe tires with 2016 date codes. The suspension was overhauled and the reduction-gear rear end was replaced according to the selling dealer, and front disc brakes were fitted along with KYB Gas-Adjust shock absorbers. The cabin accommodates seating for eight and features two-tone white and beige upholstery. The seller states that the wiring was replaced during the refurbishment, and equipment includes a push-button Blaupunkt radio, a Bluetooth-capable Pioneer stereo paired with rear-mounted speakers, a Kienzle clock, and lap belts. The two-spoke steering wheel with a Wolfsburg-crest center cap sits ahead of a centrally-located VDO speedometer and a fuel gauge mounted to the left of the driver. Additional gauges include a tachometer positioned to the right of the steering column, while oil temperature, oil pressure, and voltage gauges are located on an overhead console. The odometer shows 77k miles, approximately 500 of which were added during current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. A 1,950cc flat-four fitted with dual Weber carburetors and a stainless-steel exhaust system was installed during current ownership. The electrical system has been converted to 12 volts, and service in preparation for sale included an oil change and replacement of the throttle cable. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle, and half-shafts have been installed in place of the reduction gears. Additional underside images are provided in the gallery below. Records of the refurbishment and maintenance are included in the sale.
