1997 Toyota Tacoma single-cab pickup*refurbished from the frame up
This 1997 Toyota Tacoma single-cab pickup has been refurbished from the frame up. Every component was scrutinized for replacement or repair. It is a well-sorted truck, that is rattle-free and reliable; it rides as if it were off the showroom floor. My plan was to use this truck for camping excursions to northern Minnesota and Canada pulling a small teardrop trailer. I put every effort into making it reliable and infallible to withstand the remoteness of these adventures. All receipts are on hand.
Starting with the frame, the original was replaced with a corrosion-free unit. The suspension components, which include the rear leaf springs and front strut assemblies, have been replaced. New inner and outer tie rods have been fitted to the power steering rack. Upper and lower ball joints were replaced with the new control arms. Both front CV axle assemblies were replaced at the time of refurbishment along with a wheel alignment. Front and rear driveshafts were fitted with new universal joints at a driveline specialist. The clutch, pressure plate, and pilot bearing were replaced with Toyota brand parts. The water pump, radiator, and condenser were replaced to add reliability and ease of maintenance. The alternator, starter, and A/C compression were replaced since it was easy to access them at the time. All the brakes and related components have been replaced. A Toyota-brand fuel pump was fitted after the fuel tank was removed and cleaned. All fluids, belts, and hoses have been replaced.
The truck rides on new rims and tires with less than 400 miles on them. Power is provided by a 2.7-liter inline four mated to a five-speed transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The steering wheel frames a 110-mph speedometer as well as gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The odometer indicates 204k miles. Amenities include air conditioning and an AM/FM/CD stereo.
This truck is finished in white base coat and clear coat with black vinyl manually adjustable bucket seats. The door trim panels, and floor carpet are oak. The bed is corrosion-free; the front fenders are Toyota OEM; the bed has a bedliner; and front and rear mudflaps complete the truck.
If you have any specific questions about the truck or its features, please don’t hesitate to ask.
