Chevrolet Camaro 1st Generation 1967-1969

This 427ci Chevrolet ZL1 V8 features an aluminum engine block with Yenko markings, an aluminum intake manifold and cylinder heads, and a Holley four-barrel carburetor. The engine is said to have been rebuilt before it was acquired approximately 20 years ago by the seller, who reports that the engine has not been run but does turn over by hand. Components currently installed include a water pump, thermostat housing, crankshaft pulley, harmonic balancer, fuel pump, chrome valve covers, and AC Delco spark plugs as well as a flywheel, pressure plate, and friction disc. This aluminum 427ci V8 is now offered at no reserve in MacGregor, Manitoba, Canada. Chevrolet developed the 427ci ZL1 V8 for racing applications in the 1969 Corvette and Camaro, and aluminum construction reduced overall weight by approximately 150 pounds compared to its cast-iron equivalent. The aluminum block utilized cast-iron cylinder liners, and the open-chamber cylinder heads feature round exhaust ports. The engine was rebuilt under prior ownership and has not been fired, according to the seller, who further states that the oil passages have been primed and oil has been added to the combustion chambers under current ownership. Winters casting marks are visible on the block and cylinder heads. A Yenko stamping is also impressed on the front face of the block, which bears the casting number 3946052. Identification marks on other components can be viewed in the gallery. The Holley 4296 four-barrel carburetor is mounted to a high-rise intake manifold. A flywheel, pressure plate, and friction disc have been installed along with a water pump, double-groove crankshaft pulley, harmonic balancer, mechanical fuel pump, and Delco spark plugs.
