This 427ci V8 is #410 of 427 examples produced to commemorate the 50-year anniversary of the introduction of Chevrolet big-block engines. It was purchased by the current owner in 2023 and has remained unused since then. The engine is based on the late-1960s all-aluminum ZL1 block with which it shares a forged rotating assembly, oval-port aluminum cylinder heads, and a matching oval-port aluminum intake manifold. It utilizes a hydraulic roller tappet camshaft, and it is designed to run on 92-octane pump fuel with 10.1:1 compression. This Anniversary 427 crate engine is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner in Saskatchewan, Canada, with a Holley carburetor, fender badges, air cleaner decals, manufacturer’s literature, a rolling stand, and a transparent display case. According to GM, the 427 Anniversary blocks were created using the original, refurbished 1969 ZL1 tooling. The engine is equipped with: Four-bolt main bearing caps Forged steel crankshaft and connecting rods Hydraulic roller tappet camshaft L88-specification forged aluminum pistons Aluminum roller rocker arms Aluminum oval-port cylinder heads Aluminum oval-port intake manifold HEI distributor Cast aluminum short water pump A Holley four-barrel carburetor is secured to the intake manifold, and a plexiglass cylinder tops the assembly. A flywheel is also fitted along with a Chevrolet-logo oil filler cap, a chrome oil breather with a filter, and spark plugs and wires. Engraved plaques on both cast aluminum valve covers identify this engine as #410 of 427 produced. The front and rear surfaces of the cylinder heads are machined smooth and inscribed with the “GM Performance Parts” logo. The engine will be accompanied by an aluminum certificate of authenticity, fender badges, air cleaner decals, manufacturer’s literature, a Holley carburetor, and a transparent plexiglass display case.
